Well, to be honest, this whole membership-only-for-approved-accounts kind of turned me off for a while, I think having it open gives a more friendly and open vibe. Could attract more members like that, and in turn have an even livelier and more fun forum!

Yah - I had to have it membership only for approved because there wasn't any authentication for spam-bots in the previous version of Vanilla BB. The amount of spam/bots/hack-attempts one has for a forum is totally out of control too! The old Decahedron forum which was run on PHPbb was hacked and I found out I was hosting disney .torrents in french on my server which almost made me lose my hosting plan completely! So it was kind of out of necessity, but this new version here of Vanilla BB which we were using previously seems secure. Now they have a Captcha on sign in which separates the men from the 'bots. :)

apparently i already have an account here... hmm... I don't remember setting this up, but great success anyway!
